Fortnite Rumoured to Bring Back Mechs at the end of Season 8 – Here’s Why Players are Worried

Sources confirm Mechs are back, but with a major twist

HypeX and Shiina, two prominent Fortnite leakers have tweeted that season 8 will have a controversial finale. This has nothing to do with the narrative that the game has, but with a gameplay feature which not everyone looks forward to.

The two leakers claimed on Twitter that Mechs, or personal robots will be brought back. Some fans are excited by the news, but many others are either worried or angry. HypeX also claimed that developer Epic Games will add a funding for Mechs to have “Robotic Vocal Chords effect for voice chat.” Okay, that does sound cool. But let’s go on.

Why does the majority of players hate the Mechs? Fortnite‘s B.R.U.T.E program was introduced in Season X, and it quickly gained notoriety. The B.R.U.T.E. was slammed for being too powerful and players without any serious skills can dominate the battlefield if they get hold of one. After the feature failed, players expected them to never return, but it looks like they were too soon to decide.

As per HypeX’s tweet, here’s what will be new for the Mechs:

– Mechs now have a Robotic Vocal Chords effect for voice chat

– Emote Props now have a proper size

– Mechs now can float on water – Better charging effects

The report ends with the usual statement: Take everything with a grain of salt. The two leakers are reliable, its still unofficial and things can always change. As of now, Epic Games has not revealed anything, but lets wait for them as well. However, with the new B.R.U.T.E. features, it looks to be much more balanced than earlier and it might take skills to dominate the battlefield.
