Castlevania: Nocturne Announced for Netflix, New Belmont Takes Over Surprising Fans!

The vampire war continues, this time during the French Revolution!

Castlevania is returning to Netflix in a new spin-off! The new series will be known as Castlevania: Nocturne and will be having a new protagonist and new settings. The original series wrapped up its four-season run last year, and was a massive success. In fact, it was one of the most well-received video game adaptations, and fans were eager to see more. Let’s read more on Castlevania: Nocturne and what’s new below.

Castlevania: Nocturne Teaser and Story

Castlevania: Nocturne
Netflix

The teaser showed the main character, Richter Belmont, who sets out to continue his family tradition of hunting vampires and eradicating evil during the French Revolution. Richter is the son of Trevor and Sypha, the lead protagonists of the series until now. Both his parents’ characteristics are visible in his appearance and dressing. Fans of the game Castlevania: Rondo of Blood will be familiar of him. He has went on to appear in Symphony of the Night, Nocturne of Recollection, and Portrait of Ruin. While the Belmont family had powerful vampire hunters, Richter stands as most powerful, and had nearly managed to kill Dracula.

Netflix has kept the story under wraps, but there are news we can expect Richter’s distant relative and adopted sister Maria Renard to make an appearance like she did in the game. The story will take inspiration from Symphony of Night and Blood of Rondo.
