Zero Day, a limited series in development at Netflix, will star Robert De Niro
Robert De Niro, a seasoned actor in Hollywood, will soon make his first regular television appearance in the Netflix limited series Zero Day. Netflix has made no confirmations or comments about current events.
Crew Members of the Zero Day
The script for Zero Day is created by Newman and Oppenheim and is based on a story they co-wrote with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and reporter Michael Schmidt. Newman and Oppenheim both contribute as executive producers for the program. De Niro will be seen portraying a former American president in this political thriller. As an executive producer, De Niro collaborates with Jonathan Glickman of Panoramic Media.
He authored, executive produced, and directed the Narcos series for the streaming service. Later, he directed and executive-produced Narcos: Mexico. The Griselda series, which will feature Sofia Vergara, is another project he is working on.
In 2016, De Niro was apparently tied to David O. Russell’s untitled Prime Video mafia drama, and Julianne Moore was set to co-star in the project, which received a two-season order. However, Harvey Weinstein served as executive producer, and after accusations of sexual harassment and assault against him, Amazon cancelled the show.

De Niro was shortlisted for seven Academy Awards, winning two of them for his performances in Raging Bull and The Godfather Part II. In addition, he has received numerous Emmy nominations, including one for best actor for his portrayal of Bernie Madoff in HBO’s “Wizard of Lies.”
Along with Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrne, Vera Farmiga, Rainn Wilson, and Whoopi Goldberg, De Niro most recently finished production on Tony Goldwyn’s upcoming film Inappropriate Behavior.
In addition, Newman created the Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan comedy “True Story” and executive produced the Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes comedy “The Watcher,” which was recently renewed for a season two.
