It has been more than ten days since the tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, along with seven other people in a very unfortunate helicopter crash.
The news of his demise brought a wave of grieve and gloom across the world and people are just remembering the good things about him, the good time they spent with him and good memories people made by watching him play basketball.
Rummaging through the memories of the iconic player, we stumbled upon a memory of a music video that late star made back in 1999 and fell in love with his future wife, Vanessa Bryant, during its filming.
In a Showtime documentary in 2015, Kobe revealed his brief excursion into music as he wanted to be a rapper and break into the charts before coming back to his territory, which was the game of basketball.
Laughing on his attempts, he had told, “For those that don’t know, yes, I had budding music career as a rapper,” divulging the fact, he had stated, “It didn’t last long,” but he did make a video. And it proved beneficial for the late basketball player who met his future wife there, “On the video set is where I first met Vanessa.”
Narrating their love tale, he had shared that it was a two-day video shoot, and his eyes were always on her. He was always looking for her, wanting to know where she was. He added that he would finish his take and go back to his trailer, he always wondered where was Vanessa.
Kobe was smitten by his future wife, he continued, “Then I would come out of the trailer and just wanted to talk to her some more, in between takes and stuff like that.” Kobe’s efforts paid off as mustering courage, he asked Vanessa for her number and their romance quickly blossomed through phone conversations.
Their common love for Disney played a huge role in bringing the couple together. The couple loved Disney and would hang-out all the time at Disneyland and she became his best friend. However, it was not very smooth for the late Lakers star who was accustomed to isolation in growing years.
Before taking the plunge with Vanessa, Kobe had to get over his own issues of not getting close and attached to people as he believed he would eventually move on, but Vanessa changed that for him.
The pair got married in 2001 and shared four children before the demise of their daughter with the sports legend on 26th January.
