The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) confirms that the area is indeed home to a thriving population of coyotes and other wildlife. According to NDOW’s Doug Nielsen, the coyotes are attracted to the area due to its proximity to the Las Vegas Wash and the abundance of food sources.

However, Nielsen emphasized that human intervention can have unintended consequences. “When we start making those kinds of messes or leaving those kinds of things, then all we do is create an attractant,” he said. “Mother Nature provides for herself. It’s better for the animals if it stops.”
