We have always seen earth’s image in our geographic books and wondered how pretty it would be looking from space. And one such most recent image of the Terran system is released by the Mars mission of China. Tianwen 1 which was launched on 23rd July has taken the pictures.
The image showed earth and moon from a distance of around 1.2 million km away from the earth. These reports are as per the information released by CNSA which is an abbreviation for China National Space Administration.
A bunch of photos were taken in which our earth looked like a pale blue dot. Along with the Apollo mission to Moon these photos include the pictures taken by Voyager, Cassini, Mars Express, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. There are too many earth- moon photos available on the internet for you to watch.
However, the photos taken by Tianwen 1 was through its optical navigation sensor. The black and white photograph of our planet and its satellite appears to be crescent in shape. And according to one of the News Agency of China it seems like both earth and moon are watching each other in this vast universe.
While India has already reached Mars sometime ago, this is the first Chinese mission to Mars. Moreover, two more Mars missions are aligned for this month. Because Mars and earth are situated in such a way that it is really economical for the space stations to go to Mars, whereas other missions require a heavy amount.
China, through this Tianwen 1 has sent a lander, an orbiter and a rover up there. Whereas, the name Tianwen is really apt for the satellite, as means heavenly questions or questions regarding heaven.
