Ari Behn killed himself on Christmas leaving behind 3 children with Norwegian Princess Martha Louise
It was a tragic Christmas for the Norwegian Royal family who lost the father of their 3 grandchildren on Christmas. Ari Behn, the ex-husband of Princess Martha Louise has taken his own life at the age of 46 on Christmas day leaving everyone shocked and grief-stricken.
The announcement came late at Christmas night from the palace. Ari Behn was the author of several novels and got married to Martha Louise in 2002. The couple together had three daughters, Maud Angelica, 16, born in 2003, Leah Isadora, 14, born in 2005, and their third daughter, Emma Tallulah, born in 2008, is only 11 years old. The couple got divorced in 2017 after 15 years of marriage.
Informing about this grave tragedy, King Harald said in a statement that it is with great sadness that he and the queen have received the message of Ari Behn’s passing. He continued that Ari has been an important part of their family for many years. They carry warm and fond memories of him. They are grateful that they got to know him.
Talking about his grandchildren’s loss, the 82-year-old monarch stated that they grieve that their grandchildren have lost their father. They hold deep compassion for his parents and siblings, who have lost their dear son and brother. He urged Ari’s immediate family to get some rest during this difficult time.
Geir Hakonsund, Mr Behn’s manager, said on behalf of his family that it is with sadness in their hearts that they, the closest relatives of Ari Behn, announce that he has taken his life. He further asked for respect for their privacy in the coming time.
A statement from the Crown Prince family added that for them, Ari was a good friend, a dear family member and a wonderful uncle, with whom they have had shared many of the life’s small and big moments.
