A ‘Game of Thrones’ Season

Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer, aka The Duffer Brothers have called season four their “Game of Thrones season.” They compared it to the HBO show because of the large number of characters, with stories taking place at different locations. It is also the longest season, with nine episodes. Let’s just hope the final death count won’t be as grand as Game of Thrones‘.

The story takes place six months since the Battle of Starcourt. Eleven and the others are dealing with the aftermath, but are not together. In the meantime, they enroll into high school, and faces a new set of difficulties. It’s at this time that a bigger, meaner, and scarier threat emerges. Solving this mystery is as good as putting the horrors of the Upside Down to rest, permanently.

There is good news. We are not seeing the end of the show with this season. Netflix announced that the series ends with season 5, with an unannounced date. But there is plenty of season 4 for us to explore. The season was so big, it got split into two parts. Volume 1 is set to release on May 27, while Volume 2 will come out on July 1.

Even after the main series comes to an end, there is plenty left to explore. The creators strongly hinted that we might get a sequel or spinoff series in the future.
