According to this law, the males (between the age of 18 and 28) of South Korea have to serve in military. As for the women, the law is not compulsory but if they are interested they are mostly welcomed. However, to avoid a legal action, it is compulsory for males to serve it. Certainly, everyone has one question [especially BTS army!] WHEN WILL KIM SEOK-JIN join the military?

Kim Seok-Jin is 27 year old and the oldest member of BTS, The International Boy Band.

As for Kim, he has no time and have no way out to keep himself  saved from the conscription. Thus, Kim will NOT join the Korean military until 2021.

Has anyone before got exemptions from South Korean government?

YES, BIG YES!! According to ministry of South Korean government, there only 45 people who are relieved from the service every year. But unfortunately, this list does not count pop stars. However, previously the government have excused classical musicians who have received international awards and athletes have been there in olympics. Heung-min was previously relieved in 2019 because he played soccer for South Korean team. He was playing soccer from team Tottenham Hotspur and also helped South Korean national team win gold medal in Asian Games.
