Selena Gomez is all set to play the role of Peruvian mountaineer and social entrepreneur Silvia Vásquez-Lavado in an upcoming biopic. The film, titled In the Shadow of the Mountain will be based on the biopic bearing the same name.
Silvia Vásquez-Lavado is truly an inspiration for many as she is the first openly gay woman to complete the Seven Summits, which is an extremely difficult challenge of climbing the highest mountain on each continent. She has been a prominent figure of power and courage with he difficult past and how she emerged victorious despite all the hurdles.

The Singing Sensation Is All Aboard With The Biopic!
The movie will be produced by Oscar winner Donna Gigliotti while Elgin James will write the script and direct the biopic as well. The team is extremely excited and is thrilled to welcome Selena on board as they all gear up to tell the story of courage and resilience through the movie.
