It seems TWICE’s Jungyeon won’t be participating in the upcoming 2020 SORIBADA K-Music Awards because of health issues!

The condition has not been specified yet

Recently, JYP Entertainment made an official announcement on their official website that Jeongyeon will not be joining the rest of her band mates in TWICE for the upcoming ‘2020 SORIBADA Best K-Music Awards’ as she is not well.

JYPS Entertainment didn’t reveal what her health condition is, and didn’t say if she had been injured or suffering from some illness. During a recent online concert, Jeongyeon had been performing while sitting in a chair.

Possible Neck Injury

The online concert ‘Beyond LIVE – TWICE: World in a Day’ was held on August 6, and JYP Entertainment announced prior to it that Jeongyeon would participate but will not be able to dance. Again, they didn’t specify what happened but only asked fans for their kind understanding.

Fans however believe that this may have something to do with her neck. Back in June this year, the singer revealed during a live broadcast that she has a herniated disc in her neck. She got to find it while they were filming for the music video of ‘MORE & MORE.’

For those who are unaware of who Jeongyeon is, she is a South Korean singer who first became a contestant in JYP’s 2015 survival show, SIXTEEN. She won the third place, and got placed in the girl group TWICE. The band officially debuted under JYP Entertainment on October 20, 2015 with their first mini album, The Story Begins.

Some lesser known facts about her is that she was originally set to debut in the girl group 6mix. She had officially changed her name from “Yoo Jeong-yeon” in third grade as it was teased for being too boyish.

We wish Jeongyeon a speedy recovery so that she can get back to doing what she loves.
