Theatres are not going to re-open anytime soon in the UK and face mask is MANDATORY! Check out the new rules and regulations.

Things will have to wait yet again

The United Kingdom has retracted it’s policies for opening theatres and has postponed the dates yet again, aside from increasing mask restrictions. Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the matter officially and informed the public that the dates will be changed from August 8th to August 15th. He had thought earlier that they could loosen their strings a bit but due to the recent rise in coronavirus patients, new measures had to be taken.

Stricter Mask Policies

Johnson insisted that people who are entering casinos, concert venues, and bowling alleys will now need to wear masks before entering.

He stated, “We will also extend the requirement to wear a face covering to other indoor settings where you are likely to come into contact with people you do not normally meet, such as museums, galleries, cinemas and places of worship. We now recommend face coverings are worn in these settings, and this will become enforceable in law from August 8.” Johnson also added that the new measures will be enforced by “a greater police force.”

Even though the dates have been pushed now, there are chances of it being pushed back further if the cases continue to soar. However, AMC Theatres still hopes to open before summer is over. In a statement, AMC said that they will be reopening once the health and safety of its guests and associates are kept in check. They said that some blockbusters that fans are waiting for, such as Christopher Nolan’s Tenet and Disney’s Mulan is scheduled for release in the summer, among other movies.

The number of recent patients affected by the COVID-19 is 846, hence the sudden change in plans.
