It is sad to see the condition of people suffering from the flu in South Carolina, and what makes the situation more terrible is that it has widespread over the entire area.
The number of deaths is increasing day by day
According to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, the flu has leveled off in the Upstate. Jessica Pickens, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System spokeswoman, said that nothing has changed. The flu is still pretty prominent. South Carolina has seen a considerable increase in flu cases from last year to this year.
According to Dr. Benjamin Barlow, chief medical officer of American Family Care, who has a medical office in Boiling Springs, the typical flu that has spread in the United States can be as deadly as the spread of coronavirus that has dominated headlines lately.
The stats reveal that the flu takes the lives of Americans every year more than any other virus. It is a panicky situation as this has already caused so much damage. This season has witnessed 8000 deaths in the United States versus 300 coronavirus deaths.
The last week also witnessed another death of a 13-year-old girl from the Type A flu. Arden Bradley, a student at Gaffney Middle School, passed away on Friday at Atrium Health Cleveland Hospital in Shelby, North Carolina.
The situation looks very bad these days. Dennis Flower, Cherokee County Coroner, received a call from officials about the girl. It was confirmed that she had died from the flu while under the care of a doctor, and there is no requirement for a coroner’s investigation into the matter.
Her funeral brought tears into the eyes of the people as she died at a very young age. As per the obituary posted on the website for Blakely Funeral Home, Bradly had a love for her family, painting, photography, animals, nutcrackers, and K-POP music, especially the band BTS.
