‘Metal Gear Solid 3’ Remake Rumoured to be in Development According To the New Leak

The information was sourced from an employee at Virtuos studios

Rumors were rife over the past month that Konami is busy working on a remake of the cult-classic game, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. However, another report claimed that the studio will not do the remaster. Instead, it was handed over to a Chinese company called Virtuos. Thanks to a new piece of information from a Virtuos employee, the report looks more solid.

The information was found on the LinkedIn profile of Zhiyang Li, the Lead Software Engineer at Virtuos. From the profile, it’s clear that Virtuos has got their hands on a game’s remake. Li states that this remake is specifically a AAA action-adventure titled of some sort, and isn’t officially announced yet. While the words Metal Gear Solid 3 isn’t mentioned anywhere, the description certainly match to it.

Among other things, the remake boasts 4K support, which is a huge deal. Another feature that stood out was the inclusion of a set pieces destruction team.  This means that the game will have destructible environments.

For those who are not familiar with Virtuos, its is one of the largest video game companies in the world. They had contributed to massive titles like Uncharted 4, Battlefield 1, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Additionally, they also brought Dark Souls RemasteredThe Outer Worlds, and BioShock to Nintendo Switch. If they are indeed part of Metal Gear Solid 3, it could be one of their most ambitious projects yet.

However, it should be noted that before Metal Gear Solid 3 comes to fruition, the first two Metal Gear Solid titles are also subject for remastered versions.

The third installment to Hideo Kojima’s successful franchise came in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. It tells the story of Snake when he was known as the Naked Snake, and not the Big Boss he is today.
