Rapper Lil Uzi Vert offered to pay $90,000 for a Philadelphia college student’s tuition. The student is Raheel Ahmad, a 20-year-old political science student at the Temple University. Ahmad met the rapper at the King of Prussia mall when Lil Uzi Vert and his entourage were leaving from a departmental store.

Raheel Ahmad approached Symere Woods aka Lil Uzi and recorded on his phone as he asked for tuition funds. The video shows Ahmad asking the rapper, “Yo Uzi, can you pay for my college tuition? Ninety grand — I go to Temple, bro.” Lil Uzi Vert hearing that is seen in the video replying, “Ninety grand? I could pay for that.”

However, the Grammy-nominated rapper also added a few clauses and rules for the agreement. He asked Ahmad to show him all his transcripts, papers, and everything else. This help is much appreciated by the young student, who is the ‘man of his house’ as his mother is a widow. In an interview, Raheel shared how life changes in a moment’s notice and that it is all a matter of mental strength and focus.

Raheel Ahmad has sent all the documents to Woods but has not heard back from him still. He is, however, positive. He stated that he would appreciate it if Uzi came through on his word.

Student loans at current are around $1.6 trillion, for a collective of 45 million people. The increase in tuition prices has been an issue of ongoing political debates. No proper consensus on the issue has been reached yet, and the topic has become a matter of political rally during elections.

This is not the first time that a singer has paid off a student or a fan’s tuition. Recently, Taylor Swift paid off the college tuition of one of her Canadian fans.
