Web Show Yellowjackets is Back With a Bang!
The psychological drama is gearing up for its second season after getting an overwhelming response from the audience. The show aired its first episode on 14th November 2021 and became a huge hit.
The Storyline
The show is inspired by Lord of the Files. It is a tale of a group of extraordinarily talented school girls who are soccer players who become the unlucky survivors of a plane accident somewhere down in the distant northern wild. They are desperate to survive, so they learn to hunt until they descend to cannibalism. Scenes from their time in the wild, which happened in 1996, appear differently to those in the present-day after 25 years after they got away from the forest they were trapped in.
The plot revolves around 4 girls, Shauna, Misty, Natalie, and Taissa. The survival thriller was created and produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson.
The Series has an ensemble cast that was popular in the 90s. Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Melanie Lynskey, and Juliette Lewis will be playing the adult version of the teen girls.
What’s in Store for Season 2?
The first season wrapped on 16th January 2022. In December, the news came in that the Series will be renewed for season 2. The Series will continue from where it wrapped up.
In an interview, Lyle gave significant hints about the second season. Lyle clarified that this would never be exclusive regarding what these young ladies resort to and how they arrived at this spot. Furthermore, they haven’t been informed yet to move further with the story. The makers, however, are clear about where the story would lead further.
A lot of questions are still remaining to be answered. What’s happening with Tai? Also, who is the young girl the rest of the soccer players ate in the first episode. Moreover, the second season will talk briefly about Lord of the Flies-inspired human nature and society themes.
Just like the show even the answers to the questions are a mystery. The second season of the thriller mystery will be released in late 2022 or early 2023. As per reports, It will be a 5 episode series in the future.
