A young girl is the protagonist of the show. She is a drug addict and is recently released from rehab center. And,the 17 year old girl, Rue has no plans about leaving drugs and staying clean. Meanwhile, during all these situations Rue gets hold of a transgender girl Jules. She is out to find her origin.
The show became an overnight success due to it’s popularity among the youths. The show revolves around some heavy themes like love, drugs and sex among the bunch of high school students. They find it to be very common. All these issues create a huge problem in their life. After all these, they try to find out ways to tackle this addiction.
