The new ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ trailer promises a wild ride.
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ has just dropped the new trailer of the movie and it ensures a wild ride for and prepares the audience for turbulence. The 57-year-old Tom Cruise defying the inevitabilities of age is back as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and is seen defying the gravity in this trailer. The sequel to 1986 Top Gun is slated to release on 26th June 2020 and trailer gives the insight of the mighty adventure that awaited us.
The trailer begins in the air, with the pilot Pete flipping his airplane, which is sure to leave you dizzy. “Good Morning, aviators. This is your captain speaking. Today’s exercise is dog-fighting,” mid-air Maverick says to his fresh cohort batch, whom he has been assigned to mentor. What makes this trailer so exhilarating, is the action quotient which is more than the first trailer, and the fact that it is loaded several impressive aerial shots that will keep your heart racing, and might induce nausea in some cases.
The trailer also features mustachioed Miles Teller playing Lieutenant Bradley Bradshaw, call sign Rooster. He is the son of Maverick’s partner Goose, who had passed away in the original 1986 film. The first trailer was launched in July 2019 which was called by Tom Cruise as their love letter to aviation. It had revealed the promotion of Pete Mitchell and his refusal to retire.
The film’s official synopsis read that after more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete Mitchell played by Tom Cruise is where he has always belonged, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and avoiding the promotion in rank that could ground him. He finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, he encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” who is the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick “Goose” Bradshaw. At the face of an uncertain future, while confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, reaching climax in a mission that demands the eventual sacrifice from those who have chosen to fly it.
