This Is Us fans appeared to be heartbroken on January 19th to find that NBC was showing a season 4 rerun rather than episode 7 of season 5. Soon after showing the promo at the end of episode 6, the anticipation for the new episode was through the roof. But on which day is episode 7 of This Is Us season 5 going to air and why is NBC showing repeats?
THIS IS US SEASON 5
Season 5 of the show began airing on October 27th, 2020, several weeks later than it normally would. The delay is because the Covid-19 pandemic has caused a huge amount of delays across the film and TV industry. Though season 5 may have arrived a little later than planned, the episodes themselves have been as enthralling as ever, most notably Birth Mother, which saw Randall uncover some key information about his biological mother. Episode 7, in the meantime, promises to be a nail-biting one as the promo at the end of episode 6 left Kevin’s fate uncertain.
WHEN IS SEASON 5, EPISODE 7 RELEASING?
Episode 7 will air at 9/8c on Tuesday, February 2nd. In the meantime, on January 19th and 26th, NBC will be showing repeated episodes in order to fill the gaps. While they were supposed to be showing season 5, episode 7, the January 19th episode was a rerun of the season 4 episode, The Cabin.
WHY IS NBC SHOWING REPEATS?
NBC has decided to delay This Is Us episode 7 due to Covid-related production delays in LA. Creator and executive producer, Dan Fogelman took to Twitter on January 19th to explain the delay.
No new episode of #ThisIsUs tonight – Covid-related production delays in LA have forced us to delay a few weeks. But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you'll hang in there with us. Sorry!

Hopefully, the new episode will be coming as planned now. The show is a good one and fans cannot afford to miss any of its episodes in the near future. For more updates keep following us!
