Season 4 of This Is Us premiered on Oct 15th. Apart from Pearson’s regular family members, many guests are going to appear in the coming episodes. The most awaited entry was about who is going to play Carol’s role as Beth’s mom?
Well, well, it’s none other than Phylicia Rashad. The 71-year-old actress has been in the entertainment industry since 1972. She appeared in several smaller projects before landing her breakthrough role on The Cosby Show as Clair Huxtable. Since then, she has been giving some fantastic performances.
She played Beth’s mom, Carol, in a season 3 episode of This Is Us, titled “Our Little Island Girl.” The episode served as the highly predicted backstory to Beth. Rashad also got nominated for Emmys for her role. Fans loved her sharp-tongued and brilliant performance than in season 3. The episode conveyed the past and present relationship between Beth and Carol. Beth felt that she gave up dancing because her mother didn’t support her the way her father did. Beth blames Carol for all the problems. Once Carol realizes her daughter’s agony, she apologies to her explaining her reasons.
The new season trailer indicates a lot of parallel storylines in both past and present. A few exciting things will travel from flashbacks to the present time. Randall and Rebecca’s meeting with Carol & Beth, Beth’s desire to date Randall but Carol disapproves, Carol’s visit to dance studio, Randall, and Carol’s face-off are going to be interesting.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see some good performances. Rashad’s entry back in season 4 will keep the viewer’s attention in a grip.
Hoping Carol, Beth, Randall will get along at the end while keeping fans entertained. As per good news, NBC renewed. This is Us for season 5 and 6.
