The 9th Installment of the super-hit action franchise comes in May 2020.
With the trailer slated to release on Friday, 31st January, Universal Pictures dropped the teaser for Fast & Furious 9 on Wednesday, to satiate viewers a little before the trailer launch.
Unlike the previous parts’ trailers, teaser of Fast 9 opens on a more soft and subtle note. Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto is a doting father now of his little son Brian. The movie picks up a few years later, his son who was born in the eight chapter of the Fast & Furious saga and was only an infant there, is a toddler now.
The 54-second long teaser opens with a shot of Dominic and Brian as the father-son duo are repairing a car together and Dom asks his son to pass him a wrench.
After the death of Elena played by Elsa Pataky in ‘Fate Of The Furious,’ Dom is living a quiet and secluded life with his son and wife Letty played by Michelle Rodriguez who is raising the child with him, as indicated by the teaser.
“Things changed now that I’m a father. I can’t live my life a quarter mile at a time anymore,” Toretto narrates in the teaser, underlining the drastic change from his life as a street race driver to now being a man with some responsibilities upon him.
The teaser projects an undertone tension and drama as Letty handover the souvenir gifted by Dom to her, a silver embellished cross, to Brian for protection.
