The Streaming Giant Netflix Brings Another Interesting Anime Series, ‘Yasuke’ based on the African Samurai!

Yasuke is a Netflix original anime series by MAPPA studios. The series is directed by LeSean Thomas also known for The Boondocks and Cannon Busters. Flying Lotus is giving music and is also Executive Producer whereas the voice of Yasuke will be Lakeith Stanfield. In japan the story about Yasuke is believed to be true therefore it will be interesting to see how things will go.

Reference of the Movie

Originally there will also be a movie on this satire staring the Black Panther actor, Chadwick Boseman. Narcos’s co creator Doug Miro will be writing the script of this movie. Erik Feig will be directing the movie.

Plot

The plot is based on times when the justice was in the hands of samurais. The series is based on Yaskue who was a samurai of African origin and fought for Oda Nobunaga. He is a retired Ronin who must take the charge for transporting a mysterious child who is controlled by dark forces and wants to eliminate everyone. The series is special because it is based on historical figure Yaskue and he is one of the first and only African samurai world has ever seen. According to the writers the series will also emphasize on Yaskue’s and Nobunaga’s friendship

Cast

For the cast since it is anime we only have voices for each character and the main character Yasuke’s voice is given by Lakesith Standfield. And the dubbing in different languages will be done by other members. The other voices are not out yet.

Release date

For now the release date is not confirmed by MAPPA studios. However, it is confirmed by Netflix and MGM that the series will be on Netflix. And according to sources the series is still into pre-production phase.
