The Society is a thriller teen drama on Netflix. It premiered on May 10, 2019 with 10 episodes. The sequel to the series was announced by Netlfix back in 2019, but no confirm date has been revealed yet.

Netflix hasn’t announced any details besides confirming that the show will return for a second season. We can expect the main cast to return, along with other key characters such as the parents of the teenagers.

We can expect the next season in the later part of 2020 presumably October or November, owing to the COVID-19 lockdown.

What is The Society’s story? 

It tells the story of a group of teenagers who are forced to survive and run their town after everyone mysteriously vanishes from their town, West Ham in Connecticut. Their town is now surrounded by a dense forest. They are cut off from internet or any kind of communication with the outside world.

The cast of the thriller teen drama has garnered a lot of fans in the first season.

The cast of The Society includes Kathryn Newton who plays Allie Pressman, Gideon Adlon as Becca Gelb, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Helena. Jacques Colimon appears as Will LeClair who is also Allie’s love interest. He grew up in foster care. Rachel Keller plays the role of Cassandra Pressman, Allie’s elder sister who is a natural leader. She suffers from congenital heart defect. Sean Bredy plays the role of Sam Elliot who is Allie and Cassandra’s cousin.

The way the season one has ended, the fans have been demanding answers and  a sequel to the series. In the final episode, Allie’s mom is seen petting the same dog that Allie adopted in the New Ham. There is a memorial plaque for the missing teenagers.

This adds to the mystery of the show. It raises several such as where the teenagers were abducted? Where were they taken? Who took them?
