The Oscars 2022: Here Are The List of Winners at the 94th Academy Awards

An eventful night, to say the least

The 94th Academy Awards came and went, and we received yet another year of brilliant movies. This year, the list of movies chosen for the Oscars came out between March 1 and December 31, 2021. It was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 27, 2022. The hosts were Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer.

The Oscars 2022 was definitely one of the most iconic and chaotic Academy Awards in recent years. However, we will not be focusing on the slaps, but on the winners of the awards. Here are the winners:

CODA won Best Picture, with Belfast, Drive My Car, Dune, King Richard, The Power of the Dog, West Side Story, and Don’t Look Up receiving nominations.

Jessica Chastain won Lead Actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Fellow nominees included Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter); Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos); Penélope Cruz (Parallel Mothers); and Kristen Stewart (Spencer).

Will Smith won Lead Actor for King Richard. Other nominees included Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth); Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog); Javier Bardem (Being the Ricardos); and Andrew Garfield (Tick, Tick…Boom!).

Moving on to Best Director, the winner is Jane Campion for The Power of the Dog. Nominees include: Kenneth Branagh (Belfast), Paul Thomas Anderson (Licorice Pizza), Steven Spielberg (West Side Story), and Ryûsuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car).

Ariana DeBose won Best Supporting Actress for West Side Story. Troy Kotsur won Best Supporting Actor for CODAEncanto won Best Animated feature. Dune (Paul Lambert, Gerd Nefzer, Brian Connor, and Tristan Myles) won for Best Visual Effects. Greg Fraser won Best Cinematography for Dune.
