The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Will Not Spend Christmas With The Queen This Year?

Christmas is around the corner and it seems like the royals are planning something big ahead. The royals sure do know how to celebrate the biggest festival.

Apparently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t be joining the Queen for Christmas this year.

Why This Sudden Decision From The Royalty?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed that they will be spending Christmas with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. The decision has full support from the Queen, as other members of the royal family have done the same.

A palace spokesman has said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to spending some quality time with their extended family.

In addition to the annual stroll, the royal family exchanges little gifts on Christmas Eve. This tradition was popularised by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The queen frowns on extravagant gifts. Most of these gifts are novelty items.

Where Will The Royalty Spend The New Year?

It is not yet announced where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be spending the holidays. Ragland could travel to the United Kingdom or the young family could head to the United States. This decision can have some other reasons as well. There were rumours of some ongoing tension between the royalty. There was a huge media issue when some of Meghan’s private documents were leaked. Prince Harry showed his hundred percent support towards his wife on this sensitive matter.

This sudden decision of spending Christmas can be merely coincidental as well. We don’t really know the real reason but it seems like Meghan wants the family to spend Christmas at her mother’s. Recently the duchess made an appearance at a summit and opened up about various personal issues that were major revelations it seems. The family also went to South Africa.
