The Dropout New Trailer Dropped
The trailer of the new hulu series The Dropout starring Amanda Seyfried just dropped. It is a new hulu limited series to air it’s first three episodes on March 3. Following episodes will air weekly after that. The limited series is inspired from a podcast, The Dropout. Rebecca Jarvis is the host of this podcast. It is a true crime podcast that follows the story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, her company. Actress Seyfried will play the main character Holmes.
Inspiration For The Dropout
The podcast, “The Dropout”, by ABC dropped on January 23, 2019. Through about an hour long six episodes, the podcast takes one through the downfall of Theranos. Along with Seyfried the Hulu limited series stars Naveen Andrews, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kate Burton, Michel Gill, LisaGay Hamilton, William H. Macy, Elizabeth Marvel, Laurie Metcalf, Dylan Minnette, Alan Ruck.
The trailer features Elizabeth Holmes, who is a Stanford dropout on her way to start her own company. She starts a healthcare business. Her vision is to make healthcare accessible for all of America. But soon, she starts to face a lot of problems as she realizes that her company could be harming people. Although she tries to keep it all a secret but ultimately has to face the consequences.
Cast and Creators
Furthermore, the show will also feature Holmes’ romance with Sunny Balwani, the ex-president of Theranos, who also faces problems. The producers of the show include Elizabeth Meriwether, the producer of “New Girl”,Liz Heldens, Liz Hannah, Katherine Pope, Rebecca Jarvis, Victoria Thompson and Taylor Dunn. Michael Showalter will serve as the director for a few episodes and also as executive producer alongside Jordana Mollick.
The creators dropped the first look for the series back in December. Holmes’ case is still ongoing and will face a sentence of 20 years.
