Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming Ryan Murphy-produced The Boys in the Band, director Joe Mantello’s film adaptation of his hit Tony-winning Broadway staging. Starring the Broadway cast – including Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, and Andrew Rannells – this boy is both faithful to Mart Crowley’s 1968 play while offering a subtle and fresh perspective.
The Boys in the Band is an upcoming Netflix Original drama directed by Joe Mantello and produced by Ryan Murphy. The feature is the film adaptation of the 1968 play of the same name and reunites all of the cast members of the play’s 50th-anniversary Broadway production.
The Boys include some brief scenes you wouldn’t have seen in the 2018 Broadway production nor William Friedkin’s 1970 film version.

The plot revolves around LGBTQ. A group of gay men gather for a birthday party in 1968 New York City, only to find the drinks and laughs interrupted when a visitor from the host’s past turns the evening upside down.
The Big Bang Theory star, Jim Parsons, has already featured in an Original this year when he starred as infamous talent-agent Henry Wilson in Hollywood.
In addition to Parsons, Quinto, Bomer, and Rannells, Boys also stars Charlie Carver, Robin de Jesús, Brian Hutchison, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Tuc Watkins.

Zachary Quinto has already starred in three Originals. He featured in Steven Soderbergh’s High Flying Bird, a brief role in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as Eli Rubin, and also lent his acting chops to Big Mouth as the voice of Aiden.
Ryan Murphy is well known for his inclusion of LGBT characters in his projects and The Boys in the Band is no different.
The Boys in the Band is coming to Netflix on Sept 30.
