The Batman: Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz’s Red Carpet Attires Pays Homage to the Comics

The Bat and the Cat were at the London premiere

The Batman had its big London premiere last night, and lead stars Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz were turning heads. Premieres always give the cast and crew to dress in the best outfits, but recently, things have changed a bit. If you remember the Spider-Man: No Way Home promotional events and red carpets, you would’ve noticed Zendaya’s looks. Her dress theme had been Spider-Man villains. Now, eagle-eyed fans have noticed something in Pattinson and Kravitz.

Without a doubt, the duo had dressed up as their comic counterparts from a 2017 comic. The issue is Batman #37 by Tom King and illustrated by Clay Mann. #37 is part 2 of the “Superfriends” story arc that showed Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, Superman, and Lois Lane. At that time, Bruce and Selina were engaged to be married. The issue took a break from the typical serious storyline and is just about the two couples preparing for a double date.

The date ends up being at the Gotham County Fair. But it was superhero-themed night, and every entrant was to dress up as a superhero. Bruce and Selina show up to the date in similar threads to what Pattinson and Kravitz wore at the premiere.

We are still ten days away from the Batman’s theatrical release, but talks of a sequel are already happening. Director Matt Reeves is enthusiastic on the Dark Knight’s next journey. He also has plans for fleshing out the universe. One such example is the Penguin series for HBO Max. Pattinson was asked about an extended universe with other heroes, but replied the difficulty in doing so. Reeves’ universe is very grounded, so we cannot hope to see super-powered individuals appearing.
