Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Here’s the First Look at Leatherface and the Cast of the Netflix’s Anticipated Project!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre to arrive in February

Netflix and Legendary Pictures have released the first images of Leatherface, as well as the lead cast members. The movie is set to arrive exclusively on Netflix on February 18, 2022.

Let’s take a look at what’s going to happen in the new movie.

A direct sequel to the original

While we are not aware of the plot in detail, Texas Chainsaw Massacre follows in the footsteps of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original. It is set in a timeline where no one has seen or heard of Leatherface after his 1974 attack. By doing so, the movie has ignored the seven sequels that have come after the classic, and begins with a clean slate, and hopes to bring in new bloody twists and make the chainsaw-wielding murderer a hit among the audiences again.

The movie is produced by Fede Álvarez (director and co-writer of 2013’s The Evil Dead) and directed by David Blue Garcia (Tejano), with Chris Thomas Devlin writing the script. Álvarez compared the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre to his own The Evil Dead, saying both were made to not disappoint fans and is pretty hardcore. However, they have retained the simplicity of the original. They wanted a very simple premise with a powerful domino effect.
