It is almost a decade to the infamous moment ever in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye West stormed up onto the stage and interrupted Taylor Swift’s thank you speech. This happened on the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Taylor was giving her acceptance speech.
She was only 19-year-old then when Kanye spoilt Taylor’s happy moment at winning the best Female Video for You Belong With Me. He interrupted Taylor and said that although he was happy for her, Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. Meanwhile, a surprised and embarrassed Beyonce said, “oh, Kanye” from the audience.
Swift who is making into news headlines for the release of her new album ‘Lover’ has now once again hit the headlines with something different. She recently shared her diary entry where she had penned down her thoughts about the incident which took place back then.
The sudden response from Swift about the incident after 10 years has left everyone shocked and surprised.
✍🏼 | Journal entry September 18, 2009 from after the VMAs:
“Let’s just say, if you had told me Kanye West would have been the number one focus of my week, the media, and my part in the VMA’s I would’ve looked at you crossed eyed.” pic.twitter.com/mtVrQ2oKfd

She had written in her diary that if someone had told her that one of the biggest stars in music was going to jump up on stage and announce that he thought she shouldn’t have won on live television, she would’ve said ‘That stuff doesn’t happen in real life..”.
The entry was written on 18 September 2009, five days after the incident took place.
The rapper had later apologized Taylor Swift, her mom and her fans in his blog. He had written how sorry he was for what he did. He even had a talk with her mother right after he apologized to her.
Not getting carried away with the incident, Taylor Swift had written the song “Innocent” which was inspired by this incident. It was more of an open letter to West where she forgives him for what he did.
