What Happened to ‘The Society’?

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the show’s production was originally halted, although it was expected to resume soon. However, decided to discontinue it later.

Recap of Season 1 of ‘The Society’

To summarise, this series follows a group of high school students as they go on an unexpected otherworldly adventure. They were meant to go on a field trip, but they chose to turn around because they couldn’t get to their goal. When they returned home, however, something strange happened: their entire village was suddenly deserted. It is up to them to figure out what is going on and to make the best of the situation.

What Was ‘The Society’ Season 2’s Potential Plot?

So far, when the first season ended, we’ve gained a better grasp of how The Society’s universe came to be, but there are still some unanswered concerns. We also saw how the primary cast of characters is now cooperating to make the best of their predicament. According to what happened in the first season, the coup was successful, and Allie and Will were removed from their leadership roles. Despite the fact that Lexie is in charge of the coup, it’s unclear whether she’s ready to take on leadership responsibilities.

There are lots of possibilities to play around with when it comes to the broader, more worrisome ones. A duplicate town theory, an alternate universe theory, or even a sociological experiment are among the possibilities. However, several of these theories are in conflict with one another. The solar eclipse that occurred at the wrong moment is one of the developments that supports the other universe theory. The source of the odour was never investigated, and there’s also the fact that a coin does not land on heads. Cassandra most likely lied about the last coin toss.

A handful of scenarios included a younger set of children as well as grownups who were still alive. We’re hoping for more character development and for those relationships to deepen as the season progresses. Season 2 will be heavily focused on the horrible trio, according to showrunner Chris Keyser. “I believe there’s an interesting—and timely—question about what happens if you allow people who are completely unsuitable for office the opportunity to run for office and they win,” Keyser said. “As a result, we have a fair idea of what the season 2 arc will be.”

In a follow-up interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Keyser stated that the second season will focus on socioeconomic class and race issues. “I believe you should anticipate that conversation about class and race to keep coming up,” Keyser said. “This season deals a lot with males vs women and only briefly with race.” “In a world where there are no guarantees, all of these issues must be revisited. We intend to address all of the social contract questions that we take for granted over time, and if we’re lucky enough to obtain a season 2.”

Campbell, played by Toby Wallace, will not be in power for long in the second season, according to Wallace. “The way the show ends, there’s a lot of possibility for a shift in power and a movement in kind of alliances amongst characters, including my connection with Elle and other characters,” Toby explained. “I believe Campbell’s mission to gain power, as successful as it appears to be, will eventually fail.”

Fans, on the other side, want to see Sam and Grizz reconcile, according to Jack Mulhern, who plays Grizz and is a new crowned internet boyfriend, who spoke with The Metro (Sean Berdy). “I think the fans are yearning for it,” he remarked, “so I’m sure there will be reconciliation.” “I’m curious to watch how the youngster and you interact.” “He keeps going. “There’s going to be possibility for comedy and drama there.” From my opinion, the kid thrust into the circumstance is likely to be at the centre of the universe in the future.”
