Season 2 of Power Book II: Ghost Chronicles recap
The suspects in Professor Jabari Reynolds’ murder were the centrepiece of Season 2 of Ghost! Cane is adopted by Mecca, a vicious drug lord. However, the plan called for him to work as an assistant professor at Stansfield alongside Professor Carrie. Kevin Whitman was charged with the assassination of Professor Reynolds, which brought him to Stansfield!
Tariq was juggling school, his new born sister Yasmine being placed in foster care, trying to contact his mother, who was under witness protection, running a drug business on campus, and eventually raising cash for his own defence.
While his father, Lorenzo, was in prison, Cane’s ambitions became greater, and he stole and traded the family’s heroin supply. He was their source of refreshment. Whitman had been attracted to Carrie in the past and began to suspect her of the murder. Regardless, she murmured something that brought the cop’s attention to Zeke.
Cane was angered by his mother’s insistence that Tariq be there throughout the surgery. Riq’s vulnerability, he deduced, was with Brayden. Riq, on the other hand, needed legal papers to get custody of Yasmine, so he set up a shell company and named Brayden as president.
Tariq attempted to dispel Zeke’s suspicions by alleging that the NYPD covered up Jabari’s murder by claiming that Det. Ramirez’s weapon was used in the crime! Despite his passion for Monet and his determination to abandon her imprisoned hubby, Dante/Mecca finally paid Zeke’s defence money, which was $1 million. Zeke turned out to be Monet’s son, not her nephew… His paternal grandfather was Mecca.
After Detective Ramirez’s handgun was discovered in Tariq’s dorm room (thanks to Cane setting him up! ), Zeke was ruled out as a suspect. Tariq was jailed on suspicion of murder, and his father Ghost wrote him a harsh letter while he was in jail. Riq was eventually granted bail and continued to fight the allegations while attending school and plotting. Monet’s escape plans were thrown into disarray when Lorenzo was also released from prison.
Mecca (or Dante Spears, as Monet called him) became frustrated and approached Zeke, pretending to be his father. Monet lied to Zeke, but Diana discovered the truth and disclosed the secrets of the entire family!
When Tariq realised Lauren was wearing a wire that could have implicated Brayden, Cane, and himself, his inquiry took an unexpected turn. To protect Lauren, Riq encouraged Carrie to testify. Davis humiliated her in public. Carrie killed herself later that night after a talk with Monet!
Tariq had a nightmare about finding out who he was responsible for killing. Ghost was expected to make an appearance, but he did not. Hopefully in the third season of Ghost?!
Following his realisation that Dante was Mecca, Monet created a plan to assassinate him in the last episode. Brayden was instrumental in Tariq’s trial being dismissed. Tariq was successful in reuniting Yasmine with Tasha when she was released from foster care (who finally made an appearance in the second season). Riq promised to reunite with his family after obtaining the money and power…
Mecca was eventually assassinated by Monet (who turned out to be a federal confidential informant). As a result of his visit to the location, Tariq has been labelled as a suspect in another murder. When Lorenzo fatally shot Zeke, he thought he was preventing Mecca from leaving on a private plane! The third season begins with Monet receiving a phone call alerting her of her son’s death…
Season 3 Plot: ‘Power Book II: Ghost’
Following the epic season two finale, Monet is certain to learn that her husband Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) murdered her son Zeke in a case of mistaken identity.
Tariq, who had intended to leave the drug game after the death of Professor Jabari Reynolds (Justin McManus), has elected to stay and serve as the new connection now that Mecca is no longer a factor. Brayden, on the other hand, betrayed Tariq by setting up Tariq’s college girlfriend Lauren, whose body was discovered following a car accident, and saved him from a life in prison by confessing to being the student selling drugs on campus and revealing himself as the CEO of their drug peddling app Course Correct.
Detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen) was revealed to be the cop assigned to secret informant Mecca at the end of the episode. As she investigates Mecca’s shooting, Blanca’s return, clutching a fuzzy image of Tariq, will undoubtedly pose major issues for Tariq.
Cooper Saxe will team up with Prosecutor Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) to expose Davis MacLean’s shady legal representation in Season 3 in Power Book II: Ghost. While MacLean fights to have his brother Theo Rollins out from prison for a murder he didn’t commit.
