Our long wait for Rick and Morty Season 4 finally came to a halt when it finally arrived at the end of November last year.
Fans, however, are shattered to know that there are no more new episodes for them to enjoy in 2020. Fortunately for them, it does not look like they have to wait too much for Episode No. 6
Why have there only been five episodes in season 4?
The tagline of Rick and Morty season 4 was “half the season you deserve, all the season you can handle”, it basically means that it would be broken down into two parts consisting of five episodes each.
We have seen the same strategy being used by Netflix for the ultimate season of yet another loved animated show with bits and pieces of dark humour called Bojack Horseman. The first part of its ultimate season arrived on 25 October 2019 with the second part all set to arrive on 31 January.
The first part of Rick and Morty episodes were set to broadcast in the United Kingdom on E4 on 20 November 2019, one episode coming each week as it has always been. It actually put the UK a couple of weeks behind the American air dates, the air dates in America were 10 November.
Channel 4’s plan initially was to make the UK viewers wait for all the way until January 2020 to get the first episode but the reaction to such news was outrageous and fans were very angry upon hearing this, which is why the date was brought forward, moving the animated show to E4 in the process.
Now that the first five episodes have been and gone, we enter another down period which is something viewers have become all too used too, given the two-year-long gap between season 4 and season 3.
When will episode 6 be released?
No definite date has been given yet for the second half of episodes, with the show makers only confirming that “Rick and Morty will return in 2020.”
