Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World, or as it is popularly known as Re:Zero is an anime adapted from a light novel series of the same name written by Nagatsuki Tappei and illustrated by Otsuka Shinichirou.
What is the story of Re:Zero?
The story of Re: Zero follows the life of Subaru Natsuki, a loner who is suddenly transported to another world on his way back home from a convenience store.
The anime series was released on April 4, 2016 with 25 episodes. Two OVAs have been released for the anime. So far, a web novel, manga series, video games, based on the anime have also been published.
A series of short videos featuring chibi versions of the characters was featured after each episode. The series of shorts was titled Re:Zero − Starting Break Time From Zero. It was later replaced by another series of shorts titled Re:Petit − Starting Life in Another World from Petit.
What to expect from season 2 of Re:Zero?
It was announced on March 23, 2019 that the anime will return with season 2. The staff and cast from season one will reprise their roles for the next season as well. The second season was scheduled to release in April 2020, but it was pushed to Jul 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An edited version of season one was premiered on January 1, 2020. It recapped the first season and included additional new footage as well.
Season one of the anime Re:Zero covers the first nine volumes from the light novel series. The second season of the anime is expected to cover at least fourth Arc of Re:Zero.
