The first trailer for Puss in Boots 2 will be out on March 15
It’s been over ten years since the last Puss in Boots movie came out. The movie served as a prequel to Antonio Banderas’ character from the Shrek movies. But after a long wait, we are getting a sequel, titled Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The movie reunites Puss with his love interest Kitty Softpaws, and Salma Hayek will return as her voice. The dynamic duo will be joined by Perro (voiced by Harvey Guillén).
The makers have upgraded the star power by bringing in some major actors, including Olivia Colman and Florence Pugh. Check out the cast and crew below:

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is directed by Joel Crawford and produced by Mark Swift. The duo had teamed up earlier on The Croods: A New Age. The movie won a Golden Globe for Best Picture in 2020. Januel Mercedo, a member of the creative team behind The Croods will serve as co-director.
As for the cast, we will see Wagner Moura (Narcos), Ray Winstone (Black Widow), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (High Fidelity), Samson Kayo (Bloods), Anthony Mendez (Jane the Virgin), and John Mulaney.
The movie’s success
Puss in Boots enjoyed the purrfect run in the box office, with a worldwide collection of $554 million. Fans expected aa sequel in the coming years, but due to various restrictions within DreamWorks, the movie got shelved. Once the project got green-lit, the makers brought in Bob Persichetti, the head of story from the first film. However, Persichetti had to depart due to unknown reasons. But the project managed to move swiftly from there on out. We can expect the first trailer to drop any day.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will release worldwide on September 23, 2022.
