Apple TV+ to premiere a new special and become the new home for the Peanuts gang
Apple Tv+ is the new streaming platform for many new series and movies. It made its debut last year. It became an exclusive home for the many original series. Peanuts has a new special coming for the new year on Apple TV+. Apple Tv+ will get the Peanuts Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Year. The new special for this New Year’s Eve For “Auld Lang Syne ” will premiere on Apple TV+ on December 10 of this year.
The new special title is the first time where it will not have the name of Charlie Brown or Snoopy. For years the rights to air for the Peanuts series has been with ABC. But WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson with Apple TV struck a deal to air all the specials and new series on the new streaming service. The new special is created by Scott Montgomery and Alex Galatis.
The plot of the new special
“Auld Lang Syne” is the second new year special to come from the franchise. The last special for New Year aired in 1986 on CBS. So, it’s been decades since a new year’s special about peanuts has aired.
The plot of the new special is that the Peanuts are disappointed that Charlie Brown’s grandmother can’t visit them. So, Lucy decides to throw herself the best New Year’s party. Charlie Brown also struggles with himself to complete one of his new year’s resolutions before midnight.
Apple and PBS will come together to air It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Fans can also watch Who are You, Charlie Brown? A documentary that takes a deep dive into the origins of Charlie Brown and Charles M. Schulz’s creations.
