Outlander, season 5 and 6 were confirmed by production network Starz following the show’s massive success across the globe. The historical time travel romance built on the successful series from Diana Gabaldon will return for two more seasons making it through to Season 6.
The announcement came before the release of Outlander Season 4, which wrapped up its season finale in January.
When was Outlander season 5 released?
Starz has broadcasted the Outlander season on February 16, 2020. Ahead of the premiere, Starz released the first scene from the new series with the moment containing a hidden meaning and foreshadowing.
The introductory credits have also been released and suggest at Claire and Jamie’s fate with the couple at risk with a possible return to Scotland.

Outlander Season 5 Cast:
All the leads of the show will be back for Season 5 including Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin. Two new stars were also added as Paul Gorman has been cast as twins Josiah and Kezzie Beardsley and Bronwyn James will play Fanny Beardsley. Chris Donald will be back as Phillip Wylie.
What will happen in Outlander season 5?
Season five will be along the lines of the fifth novel from Gabaldon’s novels named The Fiery Cross as well as the sixth book titled A Breath of Snow and Ashes. The show is set in the 17th century with the American Revolutionary War, just on the horizon. Roger and Brianna will get married.
The show is going to be set on the cusp of the American Revolutionary War when the colonies broke away from their imperialist masters. The new season is going to be very emotional after the cast was in tears at the screening of the first episode.
