The Rise of Skywalker sizzle reel released at D23 emphasized the importance of the connection between three trilogies. This was done by showing the footage of George Lucas’ original trilogy and his prequel films.

The Obi-Wan series has the potential to knit the three eras of the franchise together. Although, Rise of Skywalker will be hitting before in December 2020.

Ewan McGregor took the role of Obi-Wan when Lucas returned to franchise with the prequels. This is when the fans got to know the man behind the hood. The young hero wanted to find the ‘Chosen One’ to bring back the balance in the force. Whereas in reality, his journey had been quite tough as he loses his mentor, Qui-Gon Jinn and the boy who he was trying to save goes to the Dark side.

Not only the above question, but Obi-Wan also has the potential to answer questions like, ‘How did Maz end up with Luke’s lightsaber?’ and ‘Was Palpatine active between the trilogies?’

There is no set date for the release of the Obi-Wan series as of now. But the crowd at D23 was told by McGregor that it feels good to be talking about.
