Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ Teases Fans With New Photos Of Henry Cavill Wielding A Sword; Release Date, Cast & Plot Details

The upcoming fantasy drama series ‘The Witcher’ with its season 1 of eight episodes is all set to knock on the doors of Netflix. But before it does, its showrunners are leaving no stone unturned to trigger the avidity of its fans.

The series is based on the book of the same name which was written by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Netflix recently shared the new image of Henry Cavill wielding a sword who is playing as Geralt in ‘The Witcher’ and the picture is irresistible.

With his smouldering looks, square jawline, Cavill is making the Geralt character come more alive. It clearly shows Cavill is soaked up in his character and it is a treat to see him in a swordsman’s garb.

Set in the medieval period this story is about the Geralt of Rivia, a lonesome monster hunter, known as ‘The Witcher’, Yennefer and Ciri. Here, the protagonist will fight for the truth against the dark and evil.

The Witcher series is written by the ‘Daredevil’, ‘Justice’ Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. And we are anticipating that the series is going to be the answer to Game of Thrones. But Hissrich does not think like that. In one of the press conferences, she said, “Our series can stand on his own legs and we are stand-alone series, there is nothing like to answer to anything”.

In ‘The Witcher’ we will get to see some great cast. Henry Cavill will play the lead as Geralt, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Freya Allan as Ciri, supported by Anya Chalotra, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson, Mimi Ndiweni, Millie Brady and Theresa Wilson-Read.
