The show has been renewed for season two and here is all the information you need to get ready.

Release Date

Netflix has not confirmed the exact dates as to when the show returns. But it can be expected that the second season will premiere in the latter half of 2020.

Plot

The show follows a group of teenagers who, after coming back from a failed school trip, realizes every adult in their town has disappeared. The first season explored how these teenagers manage themselves and their town without anyone to help them.

Cassandra, who was naturally chosen as a leader is killed and slowly the society starts unraveling. Her sister Allie takes charge, but peace is not maintained easily. Cassandra’s killer is hanged, but women still feel afraid of going out. Drug addiction, pregnancy and power imbalance rock the society still in its infant stage.

Among all this, the town is still trying to figure out what happened to them, where their parents are and what caused this.

As the season drew to a close, Allie lost her mayor position, the expedition to find food, led by Grizz comes back a success. The first season ended with the reveal that the students are indeed trapped in an alternate universe and their folks back home have been dealing with the loss of their own.

The second season probably will explore and expand the show’s mythology, especially with Mr. Pfeiffer coming back to focus as the bus driver on the trip.

Cast

Except for Cassandra and Greg, most characters have made it through the season, which means most will be present in the next. Allie (Kathryn Newton), Will (Jacques Colimon), Campbell (Toby Wallace), Becca (Gideon Adlon), Sam (Sean Berdy), Harry (Alex Fitzalan), Kelly (Kristine Froseth), Helena (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Elle (Olivia DeJonge), Gordie (José Julián), Bean (Salena Qureshi), Luke (Alex MacNicoll), Grizz (Jack Mulhern), Clark (Spencer House), Jason (Emilio Garcia-Sanchez), Gwen (Olivia Nikkanen) and Lexie (Grace Victoria Cox) are all expected to come back.
