Netflix Reveals “Borgen – Power & Glory” Release Date
Netflix dropped the first looks for the upcoming project “Borgen – Power & Glory.” A continuation of the hit Danish drama “Borgen”, “Borgen – Power & Glory” received a release date of April 14. The series will stream on Netflix in the Nordic countries. And it will be available for all the other countries on June 2.
The show hails from the Danish writer Adam Price, he executive produced this upcoming show. And Per Fly directed it. The show is produced by SAM Productions, who also directed the Danish series’ “The Chestnut Man” and “Ragnarok”.
Plot of This Danish Political Drama
The show centers Birgitte Nyborg, recently appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs. The series deals with major political issues in the Arctic. Netflix shared that the political drama also discusses the importance of the Danish politics in today’s time. Not only this but the show also tackles the issue of climate crisis, said Netflix. A drilling company discovers oil in Greenland which leads to a power struggle amongst the people involved. The series will also follow the story of Birgitte’s head of press, Katrine Fønsmark. She works as the head of the news department now.
Original Cast Members to Also Return
The show stars Sidse Babett Knudsen as Nyborg and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen as Fønsmark. In addition to these two the show also stars Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Nivi Pedersen, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen and Svend Hardenberg. Not only this, but some actors from the original show “Borgen” will also make an appearance.
Søren Malling, Signe Egholm Olsen, Mikael Birkkjær, Lisbeth Wulff, Lars Mikkelsen, Laura Allen Müller Smith, Jens Albinus, Lars Knutzon, Peter Mygind, Morten Kirkskov and Angunnguaq Larsen will return from the original cast.
Netflix apart from revealing the release date also dropped a couple of pictures from the forthcoming show.
