Netflix announced a new limited series named ‘Colin in Black and White’ last year. The series will feature former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s high school years and his journey to become a quarterback. Netflix announced that the series is all set to premiere on October 29, 2021. The series will reportedly have six episodes, each with a duration of 30 minutes.
The series ‘Colin in Black & White’ will show the experiences of Kaepernick during his high school. It gives an insight into Kaepernick’s life experiences that made him an activist. The series focuses on his early life and his journey to becoming a quarterback. The series shows how Colin tackles the obstacles of race and class as an adopted Black child of a white family.
Colin took a knee protesting against his community’s suppression during the national anthem played in a game. Since that incident, his life got changed. After this incident, he never played again but has found a new way to define his identity.
While Kaepernick will make an appearance narrating the series, Jaden Michael plays the role of young Kaepernick. “I look forward to the world meeting the incredible Jaden Michael, a young actor who plays me during my high school years, just a kid growing up in Turlock, California who wanted to play ball.” Kaepernick said about the talented young actor.
Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker will play the roles of Kaepernick’s adoptive parents, Rick and Teresa. Colin’s friends Crystal, Eddie, and Jake are played by Klarke Pipkin, Amarr Wooten, and Mace Coronel respectively.
