The fashion photographer, Peter Lindbergh passed away on the 3rd of September 2019. The 74-year-old photographer had clicked and captured many Hollywood celebrities. The German photographer got fame for shooting supermodels in the 90s. Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle paid tribute to him via social media.
Meghan Markle and Peter Lindbergh had recently worked together. Peter had photographed and shot 5 women for Meghan Markle’s Forces for Change Vogue issue. He had shot Meghan Markle in 2017 for the October 2017 issue of Vanity Fair. After the death of the photographer broke out, celebs expressed their grief on the social platforms including Markle who said that Peter will be “deeply missed.”
The caption read, “His work is revered globally for capturing the essence of a subject and promoting healthy ideals of beauty, eschewing photoshopping, and preferring natural beauty with minimal makeup.”
The tributes were coming from A-listers as well as the fashion world. Stars like David Beckham and Charlize Theron also paid tribute to Peter Lindbergh. They announced their sadness on social media as soon as they got the news of his demise.
Peter Lindbergh was famous for his distinctive black and white style photography and then slowly got credited with the supermodels in the eighties and nineties. The announcement of his death was done on his official Instagram handle with his self-clicked trademark monochromatic picture.
As mentioned above, his last recent work was for Meghan Markle where she did not get clicked but got other models like Salma Hayek and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern clicked.
Peter Lindbergh is survived by his wife Petra and his four sons who are, Benjamin, Jeremy, Simon, and Joseph. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
