Mariah Carey has reportedly been offered £9 million to be the new face of Walkers Crisps.
The 49-year-old singer is being eyed to take over from the Spice Girls. If all goes well, she will become the face of the savory snacks.
Mariah is reportedly been offered a hefty amount which is higher than all five members of the Wannabe group. It includes Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C, and Victoria Beckham.
The company wants to film a festive advertisement with Mariah. It will also feature her hit single ‘All I Want For Christmas’.
A source told The Sun that having the Spice Girls on board was a “real coup for Walkers”. Hence, they approached Mariah earlier this year. Further, the source added that the contract is being signed including “what Mariah will and won’t do for the brand”.
As part of the campaign, her face will appear on 50 million packets of crisps. In addition to that, Walkers are hoping to tie in Mariah’s involvement with their big advertising campaign during the festive season. They hope this could work well with her hit ‘All I Want For Christmas’.
The Spice Girls had made a comeback for the brand!
Meanwhile, in May, the Spice Girls – minus band member Victoria, opted out of their reunion tour this year. They landed a campaign with the crisp brand 22 years after their last TV ad for the company.
The Viva Forever hitmakers promoted the savory treats for the first time since 1997. They appeared on screens across the nation on the sought-after packets.
The highest Walkers Crisp’s earners are Gary Lineker at £1.5million. Close to Gary are Spice Girls and then Emily Atack at £200,000.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey is referred to as the “Songbird Supreme” by the Guinness World Records. Her latest album, titled Caution received universal acclaim from critics. It was released on November 16, 2018.
