But the celebration doesn’t end here, it’s not just one world record but three of them!!!
The chartbuster hit song by Mariah Carey and written by Walter Afanasieff and Mariah herself in 1994 is still raising the bar high every year. It was about time that the Guinness world record committee got hold of the records set by the iconic holiday track and grace it with the well-deserved honor.
On Monday the organization announced on their website organization that the pop diva has set not one but three world records with her Christmas classic song. The holiday hit has already broken the record for being the highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 by a solo artist. It has set the bar for being the most-streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours by a female artist, with 10,819,009 streams last December, and in addition, has also managed break the record for being the most weeks in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song at 20 weeks.
The pop icon took to Instagram to share and celebrate her accomplishments.
On Saturday, Carey was presented with the copies of her pages from the Guinness World Records 2020 Edition on Saturday, by an official adjudicator from the organization, along with her record title certificate. the documents were given to the singer on stage during her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas by Guinness World Records’ Michael Empric.
