Love Wedding Repeat is Netflix’s new rom-com starring Sam Claflin and Olivia Munn. The story is set during a wedding wherein the bride asks her devoted brother, played by Sam Claflin, to drug an unwelcomed wedding guest, played by Jack Farthing. Huge moral faltering blocks apart, the drugging is meant to knock out Farthing’s character, thus making the marriage “perfect.”
Obviously, things don’t go as planned, both with the dosing and Claflin’s character’s attempts to land his crush, played by Olivia Munn. There’s a twist and to know it, you’ll have to see the movie, which is currently available on Netflix.
Lead actors Munn and Claflin talked to AVclub about their favorite romcoms, Hugh Grant and drugging a friend or colleague. The first question asked was what is the romantic comedy they go back to watching time and time again?
Replying to the query Claflin talked about how the movie Notting Hill had a huge impact on him and went on to say that the movie helped him shape his life. He added that he can watch the film every year multiple times and still learn something new about the movie. The movie made him fall in love with London and he still hopes that he can live in Notting Hill someday.
Claflin also added that he has a special place in his heart for Hugh Grant and that the Notting Hill actor was an inspiration growing up in the 1990s when all his movies were doing so well.
Speaking about Hugh Grant, Olivia Munn was complimentary of her co-actor saying that Claflin was “likeable, charming and earnest” and very well could be the Hugh Grant of this generation.
Answering the second question, which was if the actors could drug another person to get him out of the situation, both the actors took a high moral ground saying that they wouldn’t do it and they would rather drag the person off the place rather than drugging him.
