Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women is out and there has been a lot of criticism to it.
Film magazine Empire praised the film as the best big-screen version of the book, saying: “If there were any remaining doubts that Greta Gerwig is a major talent in American cinema, put them to rest now. Her solo debut, Lady Bird, was a delight; this follow-up adaptation of an American classic takes an overly familiar story and makes it immediate and important and daring. In a year packed with fascinating films about women, here’s the grandmother of them all.
The book Little Women is written by Louisa May Alcott. It focuses on women and how they face the problem and how they are strong.
It basically tells each one of us that we are not just to be married off and end the life there. There is more to life than what the society and the world says. It is focusing on four women and how they adapt. It is said that “What matters is the way that Gerwig tells it; most adaptations tend to focus on Jo to the exclusion of the other characters, but this time around, we get to know Amy, Meg and even Beth a little more than usual, which results in the third-act romantic pairings making more sense and feeling more organic than they have in other versions.
The film is directed by Greta Gerwig and overall all of her films have been a hit and successful one. Mostly there were only good comments and views about the movie. The only negative comment was that it is only releasing by December so everyone has to wait that long for it. While many other films are being released now, this movie is only being released by Christmas time.
