A Japanese novel series, Log Horizon is written by Mamare Touno. Its serialization began for the first time in 2010 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, which is now under the control of Enterbrain and is a novel publishing site. The novel has received 4 manga series editions ever since then. The first anime TV serial broadcast was done from 2013 to 2014. The second season came out in 2014 and ended in 2015. The third season has taken a while for its release. The dates are officially confirmed after a long time of wait.
The team has decided to release the third season Log Horizon: Fall of the Round Table, that the fans were awaiting ever since the second season got over, to be in October 2020.
The reason for the delay in the TV series is said to be due to the delay in the release of the novel. The 11th part of the novel took a long time to be released which resulted in no matter the basis of which the show makers could make the show.
However, the delay was also due to the ongoing pandemic. Although the shooting of the series had begun timely after the release of the novel, the ongoing pandemic made it difficult for the makers to unite to work on the animation or production and later, the post-production.
All these things when done, only then can be made into the series. The delay is hence, due to the time-taking storyline that the book series took in releasing.
The dubbed versions of the series can be watched on Crunchyroll. Fans can watch the Japanese show with English subtitles. Plan your watch since the show will be out in no time. Hopefully before the quarantine season comes to an end.
