The actor is fresh off her very first Oscar nomination for Spencer
Kristen Stewart showed her versatility as she played the late Princess Diana in Pablo Lorrain’s Spencer. The role established the Twilight star as one of the finest performers that Hollywood has to offer. And with that, she has signed off on her next project – a romantic thriller named Love Lies Bleeding.
About Love Lies Bleeding
The movie is prodcued by A24, and will be co-written and directed by Rose Glass. Glass made her debut in 2021’s horror film, Saint Maud. The movie was good, but due to several delays caused by the pandemic and theatre shutdowns, it went by unnoticed. It’s protagonist was a woman who is tormented by her own internal struggles, and grew worse as the movie progresses. It is understandably why Stewart will want to work with a storyteller who can bring up characters convincingly. Perhaps this project can shed some light into Glass’s filmmaking.
Not much about the project is known, except for a brief synopsis. Love Lies Bleeding further tells the story of a romance that is fuelled by ego, desire, and the American Dream. Glass has co-written the script along with Weronika Tofilska. Tofilska also has directed episodes of Netflix’s The Irregulars and Amazon Prime’s Hanna.
A24 will produce the project along with Oliver Kassman of Escape Plan Productions and Andrea Cornwell of Lobo Films.
Where will we see Kristen Stewart next?
Stewart will be seen next in Crimes of the Future by David Cronenberg. It tells the story of a performance artist with Accelerated Evolution Syndrome. This causes new and unexpected organs to sprout from his body. He makes a performance out of the removal of these organs. The movie will also debut at the Cannes Film Festival later this year.
