Judy Blume’s ‘Superfudge’ Adapted For Disney
Disney+ is teaming up with Joe and Anthony Russo once again, this time to adapt Judy Blume’s ‘Superfudge’. The company has also ordered two new series produced by Eva Longoria and Reese Witherspoon.
Superfudge, one of Judy Blume’s best-selling children’s books. Disney’s streaming platform will be creating it as an animated picture. The series produced by Joe and Anthony Russo. Superfudge, a children’s novel, released in 1980 as a sequel to Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. And making it the third item in the Fudge series. Fudge, a TV series based on the property, originally ran from 1995 to 1997.
Story
The book’s plot revolves around the figure of three-year-old Farley Drexel Hatcher, also known as The Fudge. He seemed to think of himself as a superhero. And the crazy interplay between him and his brother Peter. When one day he wanders away throughout NYC under Peter’s supervision, causing pandemonium. The epic experience in New York “ultimately pulls these two together just as their world is turned upside down by the emergence of a brand-new problem — an infant baby sister.
Blume has received numerous accolades for her writing, including the Margaret A. Edwards Award from the American Library Association (ALA). Blume is also named a Living Legend by the Library of Congress. She also received the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters in 2004.
Russo Bros As Producers
During the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour, Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis unveiled the Disney+ film project, with Avengers: Endgame directors the Russo Bros. AGBO, the Russo Brothers’ company, is producing it. Amos Vernon and Nunzio Randazzo wrote it. Vernon and Nunzio have also completed the screenplay for Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, a Sony Pictures Animation production.
Ross Bros will be conceiving and producing the first animation film ‘Superfudge’. They are currently closing up production and directing duties on The Gray Man, starring Chris Evans from Captain America: Civil War. They are also co-producing the Extraction sequel with fellow Avengers veteran Chris Hemsworth.
Disney has been rapidly scaling up production of its original films and television shows for their streaming service. Superfudge is merely one of several titles in the same book series. The streamer may also decide to adapt additional films or episodes based on Blume’s successful series of books.
